Finish editing

Image
Today was another editing day. Today would be our last bit of overall editing. This means that by the end of editing today we would have somewhat of a film done. Without the finishing touches our film would be done with the first round of editing. I started off by watching what we already had done. It looked great so far. I had to send the rest of the scenes we filmed to Ayden. Ayden is the one editing because he has the most experience. So I watched as he edited and took notes. I also made sure to pay attention to any mistakes that might be made. We all helped make decisions when it came to editing and gave our feedback. I enjoyed this process. Since the pressure was not on me. We all talked a lot about how we wanted the final film to come out. I really liked how our film was coming out so far. I felt like it really fit in the thriller category. The drone background sound really added to the thrill of the film. At this point all the scenes had been trimmed and aligned. Now all we have

sound blog

It was time to choose sound for our film. This is a very crucial aspect. Since this is such an important part we did plenty of research. I researched how sound can effect the audience in a thriller. I found that adding specific sound can increase the thrilling and suspenseful sensation when watching the film. The sound also adds to the film’s overall quality. My group members also did research and came to the same conclusions. We all found different sounds that we could potentially use. We narrowed out the sounds we needed permission to use. This was to avoid wasting time on trying to get permission to use a sound while we had other options. We narrowed it down to about 3 different options. We came upon the drone sound. The drone sound is also referred to as the drone of dread. The drone of dread is found in just about any thriller or horror movie. This is because the drone sound is proven to provoke anxiety.    Which is exactly what film producers what the audience to feel when watchi

Beginning editing

Today we decided to start editing. I still am not amazing with editing. So I took it upon myself to do a little research. This is also why most of my part of was mainly behind the scenes. The person who will be mainly editing will be Ayden. This give the rest of the group the opportunity to be there moral support and feedback. The first thing I did was make sure Ayden had all of the scenes and footage. Next, we discussed our story board and the order of the scenes. This was so we could organize everything and have it all in order. For our film the platform we will use to edit is iMovie. We choose this platform because you can never go wrong with IMovie! Next, we listened to the music and audio we will be using. Next, I watched as Ayden began to add the clips to IMovie. I remember when he did this in our last project and was familiar with how to do this step. This was only the beginning of the editing process. I then watched Ayden trim each individual scene. This was so that the clips li

More filming!

On Saturday, we proceeded with our filming process. We only had left a couple of scenes to film. I did not need to be in any scenes so i was there for moral support. Basically, we filmed our remaining scenes and re-filmed ones that needed to be redone. This was so everything was perfect. We has to make a minor change of plans regarding one of our scenes though. In our film, originally, we had a scene planned where we were in the forest. This scene was used to create suspense. We were not able to find a forest go to one. However we had a better idea of filming this scene in one of our group members backyard. This gave off feel as a real forest.    So for this scene we filmed, Trevor was the actor so i just observed and gave direction. Since these scenes represented suspense I had to make sure It looked mysterious and somewhat scary. We decided the scenes were perfect so we were done with the filming aspects for that day. After this my part for that day was mostly fulfilled. Since everyt

Easy day

Today was a light day. Originally our plans were different. We had planned on doing some filming. However, it was not going to work with everyone’s schedule. It was also raining outside so I texted the group suggesting we film a different day. I then suggested we should all discuss our plan for the continuation of our project. We decided to all meet up and review our plan. I got there and we were only missing one group member. This was why we didn’t film because not all of us were free. The first thing I did was pull up the footage we already filmed. This was so we could get a visual of what we already had done. We realized there were a few errors in some of the clips. This will be a problem we will deal with later. On the next filming day, we will re-film these clips. After this I suggested some costume ideas. I figured I had some stuff that would work that I could bring for our next filming day. Then we discussed what the overall film will look like once completely put tog

Begininng the process

Image
Today we began the filming process. This consisted of four of our group members. This was so   two of us are in the film and two were there for the production aspect. In the film, I am one of the actors. We began our filming process with our first scenes. This went quite smoothly. These scenes took place in the park.   So, for this scene I had to do some acting with trevor as Ayden and Ben filmed. These scenes were easy to film because we had a good enviornment and the weather cooperated. We got these scenes filmed in a timely manner.  In these scenes I only had to do a little bit of acting so it was easy for me. This next scene took place at a house. This is a scene towards the middle of our film. In this scene the babysitter and the kid are doing typical babysitting things. This scene took a couple of tries because we had to make sure everyting was right. We finally got this scene right after a few attempts. We were done filming for  this day. overall, filming went smooth for this
